I’ve been a user and advocate of Wacom products for a long time and the last product I was used to working with was actually the much larger 21 inch Cintiq Tablet monitor. When it came to purchasing an ideal set up for working at home, but having it be more mobile, I had to go with the smaller 12 inch version.
Since my primary workstation is 15 inch Macbook Pro, I didn’t really notice the 3 inch screen size difference with the Cintiq. It’s amazingly light-weight and portable. Colors show up perfectly, although I cheated by also purchasing Color Muki to get the best color profiles. The pen sensitivity is perfect, I can really get that fine, pencil-sketch look in photoshop just doodling.
The only kicker is I can’t use it on the road without having to really set up shop somewhere with outlets. But, considering how small and light-weight it is, it’s portability makes up for that. I used to lug the 21 inch one from work to home some nights & weekends and that thing was not fun to carry and took much longer to set up.
