Barbie Luxe
Design trends by Patricia Fields
First off, I just want
to say that I was stricken by a spontaneous urge to
go purchase these adorable items that just happened
to be sold in our toy store at work, downstairs. I
had no idea who Patricia Fields was, or why it was a
big deal that she decided to use Barbie as a licensed
property. I did a few minutes of research and it
turns out Patricia Fields is huge a fashion design
icon, with a well-known portfolio of emmy award
nominations for wardrobe fashions in Sex and the
City, Ugly Betty and The Devil Wears Prada. Maybe
that's why I found myself delightfully attracted to
some of these designs.. and yet felt others were just
way too fashion-y. Hmm.. just like how I would
describe Sarah Jessica Parker's wardrobe in Sex and
the City!

LOVE the old-school Barbie logo

Metallic purses - detail shot

Last but not least.. Jenn's picks / guilty purchases!!
#1 - Black & white patterned hoodie
(warm & comfortable - but I wouldn't pay full price for it - the material isn't luxe)
#2 - Metallic messenger bag
(LOVED it, until 8hrs into my first day using it, the magnet popped out of the top folding compartment.. it's fixable, lol!)
#3 - Black "Dream House" tee
(it's so true.. lol)
